ICP CHEMICAL ANALYSIS
ICP - Inductively Coupled Plasma
ICP Analysis, often referred to as ICP-AES (Inductively Coupled Plasma Atomic Emission Spectroscopy) determines elemental composition of metals and non-metallic materials. Test results provide concentrations of trace to major compositional elements.
How an ICP Test is Performed
An ICP Test is performed with an Inductively Coupled Plasma Spectrometer. The sample and solution combination is aerosolized in argon gas and presented to heated plasma. Light wavelengths emitted by the plasma flame are measured.
What an ICP Analysis Indicates
- Presence of Contaminants
- Presence of Additives
- Type of Material Based on Elemental Profile
ICP Test Applications
- Analysis of used oils and solvents
- Analysis of water
- Analysis of plastics
ICP Analysis ASTM Standards
VARCHU MARC LLP ICP analysis is performed according to the following ASTM standards:
- ASTM E3061
- ASTM E2371
- ASTM D1976; CAP-017
